dior addict – fluid stick

i have a new favorite lip product. i can’t call it a gloss or lipstick, because it is somewhere in between. i’ve been stalking my local dior counter for these to show up. they’ve been on the market for about a month or so now, but only via websites and i wanted to be able to swatch them live before purchasing them.

it was worth the wait. i need more of these. they feel AMAZING. it is a classic doe foot applicator, but in an oval shape. as soon as you apply these to your lips, you feel a cooling, moisturizing effect. it goes on like a gloss, but gives the all-day stay and pigment of a lipstick. i picked them up in two colors:

pandore – a true coral

vie d’enfer – a blueish toned red/berry 

these lippys will cost you, but i’m willing to pay a little more for something that moisturizes my lips and gives them long-lasting color.

dior addict lipgloss and nail lacquer

i’ve been dying to try dior addict’s lip gloss for sometime now. i finally picked some up this past weekend and i’m in LOVE. both these colors are in the new limited edition spring collection, that was inspired by marie antoinette. the gloss has goes on very smooth and has a super shiny shimmer to it. i love the fact that the applicator is a tiny brush vs. the typical doe foot applicator most glosses have. i love this sheer peach color with a bit of pink in it. it is the color 442 petillante.

i also was drawn to their nail lacquer in the color porcelaine. i applied three coats and you can totally tell the difference between this high end nail polish vs. a drug store deal. it very shiny without a topcoat and the staying power is great. so far i’ve had it on for four days and it hasn’t chipped a bit. it is a gorgeous robin’s egg shell color that is perfect for spring.

tutorial – smokey eye and nude lip

tonight i decided that i would do a smokey eye with a little bit of a twist. i used my lorac 3D lustre in diamond to give it a little sparkle. to achieve this look, i used several products:

1. i applied Buxom’s Stay There Eye Shadow in Pug all over each eyelid / http://www.sephora.com/buxom-stay-there-eye-shadow-P267305?skuId=1536911

2. i then used eyeko’s fat eye stick in black, all over each lower lid. feel free to cat eye this out, if you prefer /http://www.birchbox.com/shop/eyeko-fat-eye-stick

3. in order to achieve the all over sparkle and shimmer, use lorac’s 3D liquid lustre in diamond. since this is so dramatic, i use the dropper to apply a small drop onto my wrist, and then use my finger to blend all over the eyelid. /http://www.loraccosmetics.com/make-up_3d-liquid-lustre.html

4. i finished off the look with a few coats of lancome’s hypnose star mascara in noir midnight. this is my second favorite mascara. it’s BLACK. great for dramatic eyes. but for every day use, i use benefit’s they’re real. the wand is key. here is a link to both:

5. and then i applied a coat of dior addict gloss in their new 2014 limited spring edition color, 442. (i will be doing a separate blog on this product later. – it is THAT good!)
